Random Tip: Buy HDMI cables online

May 16, 2011 By Topher Leave a Comment

Here’s today’s random tip: don’t buy HDMI cables in a brick-and-mortar store (eg. Best Buy, Walmart, or Target). For that matter, don’t buy any electronics cables in a store. They are way over-priced. You can buy the exact same product online for a fraction of the cost. Here are some examples:

  • HDMI — 16-foot Monster cable at Best Buy: $119.95.
    This
16-foot Monster HDMI cable on Amazon for $27.50.
  • Toslink — 6-foot Toslink cable at Target: $19.99.
This 6-foot Toslink cable on Amazon for $5.81.
  • Ethernet — 50-foot ethernet cable at Walmart for $8.98.
This 100-foot ethernet cable on Amazon for $6.72.

In short, save your cash and order these things online.
